Sabrina and Nicolas - Happy French couple

Let me tell you my story, the story of my blog and how you will be able to speak French in less than a year.

I am French, mother of two sons and two cats, happily coupled (can’t say married unfortunately), living in France.

I have always liked to learn and to share, so what more obvious for me than opening this blog ! Before all of that happened, the road was winding.

My story

Sabrina-as-a-french-child

I grew up in a small town, in the West part of France. Nothing glamourous, but this town will always have my heart : Childhood memories, family house and first loves, but also the boredom that you can only feel in small towns and that arouses imagination and the eagerness to discover the world.

To discover the world, I needed one thing : Speaking English (well, later, I realized that I actually needed something else : money !) This is how I came to choose English literature and translation as a major in the university. I had the opportunity to study for a year in the US (Long story short, I literally took this opportunity). Once again, I lived in a very small town in the smallest state of the US : Newport, Rhode Island. Loved my year there, made great friends that I still have today and learnt a lot !

Right after this year in America, I moved to Tokyo, Japan (what a change when for 21 years of my life, I always lived in small towns…). I stayed there for a year and that year was crazy : I did things that I could not have done anywhere else ! I could not speak a single word of Japanese but I managed to be an English teacher and a French teacher (in a prestigious language school), I translated video games (even though I am not a fan of video games at all), I played in commercials (find me in the instruction DVD of an electrical generator) and movies (one of them even won a prize in a movie festival in Vienna).

Then I came back to France (in Normandy), where I worked as an English teacher and a French teacher in Junior High School. After that, I went back to school and obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, I only knew that I wanted to be surprised every day, not really knowing the path that will lead me to happiness. Happiness that I find in travelling, meeting people and sharing experiences.
